Dell Vostro 1510 DC power adapter: Where do I get one?

Hi Folks!

I am looking for an adapter for my new Dell Vostro 1510. As I am living in the woods this is essential.

I found one on the US websit, but they do not ship to the UK.

Does anyone know where I can find one?

Dell UK doesn't seem to sell them. Or did I overlook?

Hope you can help.

Ludd

I believe it uses a standard Dell 90W power adapter. Have you tried looking under the D630 or D830 on the Dell UK site? As long as it's 90W, it will work fine.

Thank you for your reply Robin!

I checked the tech specs on my ac adapter that came with the laptop: 19.5v 3.34 A = 65 Watt.

Did I get the wrong adapter with my laptop if you recommend me to have 90 Watts?

the DC adapters that dell sells as PA-12 family

for:

For Inspiron Notebooks 300m, 500m, 600m, 630m, 700m, 6000, 8500, 8600, 9200, 9300, E1405 For Latitude Notebooks 131L, D400, D410, D420, D420, D500, D505, D510, D520, D531, D600, D610, D620, D630, D800, D820, D830, X300 For Performance
M20, M60, M65, M70, XPS M140, XPS M1210
1330 1530

supply the same power as my ac adapter for Vostro 1510: 19.5V 3.34A

does that mean that the PA-12 will work on my laptop??

I can only find one for sale on the dell website: A Kensington 120 Watt adapter: http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&sku=450-11303

Now I know what I am looking for. Thanks very much Robin 24k.:manvery-happy: But I am unsure about this because I wonder if I use a 120 watt adapter, isn't my battry going to drain almost twice as fast as a 65 Watt one?

Well, the Dell US website only has the 90W adapter...most 15.4" notebooks (or one that has a 9-cell battery) use 90W. A laptop that comes with a 65W adapter can use a 90W adapter, but not vice-versa.

Are you able to find the PA-12 (65W) or PA-10 (90W) on the Dell UK site? I recommend looking under the D630.

120W is more than you need. I wouldn't use a non-Dell adapter with it as it could void the warranty. Take a look here:

There are many 65W and 90W Dell adapters.
