Dell Vostro 3560 mSATA question

Hello everyone,

I am writing here because i did not find answer to my question. I have Dell Vostro 3560 which was bought through a retailer in my country in 2012. Currently i am planning to upgrade my HDD with SSD or mSATA SSD. However i do not know whether my motherboard support mSATA. I have read that vostro 3560 can come with 2 motherboards (1 which supports mSATA and the other which does not support mSATA). How can i determine whether mine support it ?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Just to clarify, The M-SATA drives which were shipped in some of the Vostro 3560 are not for the boot, it is just for the cache.

All the 3560's has a MSATA slot however it is either empty or fitted with a dummy unless the user configures the machine with MSATA specification.

If you're considering to upgrade the HDD, You may swap it with a 2.5" SSD drives and reinstall or reimage, That should work.

Thanks
