Dell inspiron 3521 Touchscreen
Hello.
I recently bought a dell inspiron 3521 laptop with intel CORE (TM) i5 3317 1.7GHz CPU, 4GB Ram with windows 7 ultimate installed. Well the problem I encountered was that when i entered my Service tag (at the back of my laptop) in the dell website, it mentioned that my laptop is touchscreen. so i have been touching the screen ever since but it appears that the touchscreen is not working. I have installed all the Drivers for the laptop but still i am dissapointed with this.. Please help. Thanks in advance
Avish

Hi Avish,
Thank you for providing the information.
I have checked the order details of your system and would like to inform you that the system you have is non-touch.
To check the installed components of your system, click Here and enter the service tag. Go to ‘System Configuration’ tab and click on ‘Components’ to view the LCD type on your system.
If the LCD is touch capable, it would have ‘Touch’ written in the specifications for the LCD.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to reply for any further assistance.

Hi Avish,
Inspiron 3521 system comes with optional touch screen and needs to be configured at the time of purchase.
As this system model is available in touch feature, the support site displays the icon for touch.
To check, if the system was shipped with touch screen; you may share the system's Service Tag and Owner's/Company's Name with me via private message (click my username and then click Start Conversation).
Keep me posted with the information. I will be glad to assist you further.

Hi Avish,
Glad to know that the information related to the LCD is clear.
The system that comes with an option for touch panel have the orange color ‘touch’ label on the Dell support site.
Please feel free to reply for any further assistance.

Hi Avish,
Any Dell system that comes with an option for touch panel and can be configured at the time of purchase has the orange ‘Touch’ label on it.
If your system falls in the category where you have the option to configure for either touch or non-touch display, it would have the icon for touch on it.
However this does not verify that a particular system is touch capable.
As in your case, the support site shows the icon as the Inspiron 3521 comes with the option for both type of displays; however as the system was ordered with a non-touch LCD, it is not touch capable.
Please feel free to reply for any further clarification.
