Dell xps m1530 graphics chip problem

I know very little about graphs card but mine is not working so i brought it to a friend he said it was fried so what do i do?

Check your hardware list in the control panel; if you are running nVidia GeForce 8600 graphics card, and your computer is 2 years old or more, the graphics cards were faulty and the object of a class action settlement.  Depending on when your warranty expires, the graphics card will extend on year beyond that.  You may be experiencing overheating of the computer as well..........Search the community and support forums for more background information.........
