Disabled the beep on my inspiron 1525 vista ultimate but still it continually beeeep, beep beep like connecting and disconnecting?

After searching all over the net I found:

1. local machine: sc stop beep && sc config beep start= disabled
2. remote machine: sc \remoteMachine stop beep && sc \remoteMachine config beep start= disabled
3. requires reboot: Device Manager -> View -> Show Hidden Devices -> Non Plug and Play -> Beep -> Disable
4. requires reboot: net stop beep
5. use TweakUI: General > Settings -> Uncheck the Beep on Errors

BUT none work!

I've tried all those methods but none of those worked and it's driving me crazy! The beep is disabled and yet I still hear the connect / disconnect beeps all the time! Even after I have detached all USB devices, any other suggestions please?

Any knowledgeable advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks & Best Regards

Martin

"3. requires reboot: Device Manager -> View -> Show Hidden Devices -> Non Plug and Play -> Beep -> Disable"

This method is similar to that but has an extra step:

1. Open “Control Panel\System\Hardware Tab\Device Manager”.
2. At the top click “View\Show hidden devices” then go to “Non-Plug and Play Drivers” and  double click “Beep”.
3. Now click the “Driver Tab” and finally change “Startup Type” to “Disabled”.
4. Restart.

Hi Jimco,

thanks but I was aware of that and had done it, to no affecT.:emotion-3:  Your method is just another way to do #1:

1. local machine: sc stop beep && sc config beep start= disabled

Cheers & Best Regards
