Drivers for inspiron 1440 with windows XP SP3 on it!

Hello everyone, hope everybody is doing fine here.

I am using dell inspiron 1440 which came with windows 7. I have down graded it to windows XP for installing specific software on it. But I could'nt find  any drivers except the audio drivers and LAN. I have an emergency for the wireless drivers and VGA.   I have gone through the internet but could find the above mentioned drivers. Can someone please help me out to find the drivers? Awaiting for your replies.

Thanks in advance guys!

Because Dell did not offer that notebook with WinXP, you will not find Dell specific drivers for it.
You will have to go to the manufacture's site (of the device itself) to get the drivers.

That notebook was available with a few different wireless cards.  What it has depends on what was ordered with it.
You can go to the device manager to see what vendor and model you have and then proceed from there for the driver.

The other thing you can do is use the ethernet connection and let Windows update install drivers for it.  It should recognize the wireless card and install the drivers for you.

Hey Bay Wolf  thanks so much for your help. I have already gone through the link you provided but did not fetch me any help. But found the wireless drivers from from following link meanwhile..

en.community.dell.com/.../19560495.aspx

But the problem I am having right now is I am unable to turn on my wireless since it is associated to my keyboard function keys. I guess I have to install the drivers for he keyboard to activate them. Any suggestions from your side bat wolf?

I just came across this thread.  It addresses some of the issues you may have with getting drivers for your system.

When installing a fresh copy of the operating system, there are a few drivers that need to be installed and there is a correct order to install them.
Learn how to install Install Drivers in the Correct Order by Clicking Here.

If you do not install the chipset driver and a few other items, you will not have full functionality of your system.

I don't know if you can get the function of the keyboard to turn your wireless on/off without the Quickset software.

Yup.  That's the same link I posted earlier.  It didn't have the QuickSet software the OP needs.

Ah sorry. so it is. Quickset from an older system may work such as the Inspiron 6400 but I'm not sure.
