How do I get rid of this screen problem by myself without repairs?
There is this VERY bad display problem that makes things unnoticable. It happens when I accidentally touch the screen. It also usually fixes if I restart the laptop or touch the screen again. This is different and much worse, instead of distorting the screen.... It's hard to describe but it's kind of like the bars you see on TVs, the color ones.

Rendum,
Start the computer and tap the F12 Key. Choose the option to run the diags on the system especially the LCD. Post back here with the results. Also, post your specific model number of your computer and the OS that is installed.

It's Inspiron 15R, the problem is that I can't see ANYTHING, even when the computer starts up. This may be a bizarre question but what button combo should I press to get to it?

Hold the D key through powerup. Can you get to an alternating series of solid color screens? If not, attach an external monitor. Does it show an image?
If you need further information, please post the full model number -- Inspiron N5110, 5521, etc.

While I am unable to use my laptop right now, I tried to upload a screen shot of it, but it was too large...?
Also, so I can know, what can D Key do?

It should initiate a self-test of the screen. If it doesn't, the screen is bad (which may or may not be the only issue with the system, but if you can't get any test to show up on the screen, that's the first part to replace in trying to get the system back to working again).
If you CAN get a self test on the screen, then the next thing to check is the cable that runs between the mainboard and back of the display panel. If it's damaged or loose, it can also cause the problem you're seeing.
