How to disable peer-to-peer option?
I suddenly started getting a peer-to-peer icon on my taskbar, and while I'm pretty sure it's disabled, it still tries to run when I get online with failed results. The only thing I can access from the icon itself is the event log. I'm able to get online through my regular WiFi, but this is a nuisance and something I'll probably never use. Is there a way to stop this from running at all either by disabling or uninstalling? I'm not sure why it suddenly started doing this, the only changes I've made have been a few Win8 updates.
I'm running an Inspiron 17 (3721) laptop.

Unistall the option in control panel under networks. Sounds like keylogger malware.
Win7 when configured on peer-to-peer Network has three types of Sharing configurations.
HomeGroup = Works only between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration makes it very easy to Entry Level Users to start Network sharing.
Home Network or Work Network = Basically similar(and better) to the previous methods of Work Group sharing that let you control what, how, and to whom folders would be shared with.
Public Sharing = Public Network (like Internet cafe) to reduce security risks.
If your network is comprised of Win 7 only and you want a simple Network, use this.

After configuring the Homegroup scroll down to the Permission/Security section.
