How to permanently disable the Point stick / Tap stick on a e6320
I use the Touchpad all the time, but the Point stick causes issue when I type (bumping the cursor around when I nudge it)
I have used Dell Touchpad in control panel to disable it, but as soon as I reboot, it's back. If I open Dell Touchpad it shows it is disabled, but it is not. I then need to 'enable' it, save, then disable is, save and then it remains disabled until the next restart.
Quite tedious.
I have looked in the BIOS/EFI and can't find a setting.
Is there a touchpad only driver I could install that would replace the touchpad/point stick driver?
That way I will have the touch pad, but not point stick that needs to be disabled each time I boot.

perhaps a BIOS or driver update would fix it.
on some keyboards you can remove them and cover the contacts or disconnect the wires for the pointing stick. I did that on my E6410 (very easy) and problem solved!!
I hate those sticks for that reason, they go haywire if you lift the laptop and don't set it down perfectly flat.

what is the device name for the pointing stick? Is it ALPS ?
sometimes all of the settings are not available via the control panel software version dell provides, l but once you find out what device it is you can always go to the registry and change it there.
