How to switch to Widcomm Bluetooth software on Vostro 3500 Windows 7 with Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Module?
I have Vostro 3500, Windows 7 with Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Module. I downloaded and installed Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Module driver 6.2.1.900 , A00 (R253452.exe) from Dell Drivers and Downloads website.
After I restarted my computer, I can see the Bluetooth icon in my system tray. Based on it's menu, I can tell it is Microsoft Bluetooth stack.
I saw the installation created C:\Program Files\Widcomm folder. Also in Task Manager I can see Widcomm's BTTray.exe and BTStackServer.exe are running, however I can not get Widcomm's Bluetooth icon to show up in either system tray or My Computer. It seems Microsoft stack always takes over the Bluetooth device.
How can I switch to use Widcomm Bluetooth software instead of Microsoft's?
Thank you.

Open" Windows Update " menu ,scroll thru the installed updates until you find the windows installed BT stack driver.Left click to highlight it,then, click uninstall at the top(DO NOT Re-Start System).now install Dell 360 BT driver.
I would save the dell BT driver to your desktop and after uninstalling windows version you can easily install it by double clicking the shortcut on your desktop to run it.

Thanks for the reply.
Actually I found Dell's driver does install Widcomm stack. It is just that in Windows 7 Widcomm software is integrated into Microsoft stuff and has a different UI than what I am used to see in Windows XP.
I have tried it and it works fine.
Thanks
