Inspiron 1525 - Cannot view Video - Urgent Help needed

Model: Inspiron 1525

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium Edition

I re-installed Vista on my laptop as it was giving some popular issues, and installed the drivers/utilities using the CDs provided in the pack.

Now, I am not able to view videos at all.

I've tried various players, Win Media Player is supporting only visualizations and Audio files.

When I play a Video file, only the audio is supported. It says your Video driver myt be buggy and asks me to update!!

I checked, my driver R180254 is the latest version.

Also, when I play a file on say Winamp, it does not play the visualizations at all giving a similar error message. Media Player Classic reports some essential codecs missing.

Please tell me that I haven't screwed up by re-installing the OS!!

I've got some real important work to be do and here I am, stuck with this problem.:emotion-12:

Please HELP!!:emotion-42:

TIA.

Cheers!

Thnxx for the quick response and a helpful link indeed.

A quick doubt: now that i have installed the drivers in an incorrect order, should i simply re-install 'em in the suggested order w/o uninstalling 'em  or is there another way to go about it?

Sorry if i sound naive in the computer world! :)

TIA.
