Inspiron 1525 - Windows 8 - inbuilt microphone is not working
Hello,
I have such a problem: I have Dell inspiron 1525, originally there was window vista, i have installed window 8, now the inbuilt laptop microphone is not working. If I try to access Dell Support Section, Drivers & Downloads, I can only choose between Vista and XP. I would be very grateful for help.

Hello. I would first try the Vista version of the Sigmatel audio driver. Install it using compatibility mode. Dell lists it as being a 32-bit driver so it might not work even in compatibility mode but it is worth a shot.
If that one fails to install then try the XP version of the Sigmatel, again using compatibility mode.
Reply back if you don't know how to use compatibility mode.
