Inspiron 1525 graphics card

My daughter  has purchased a new inspiron 1525 and is heartbroken to discover that her SIMS2 games will not work as the graphics card has to be T & L enabled if the CPU is less than 2 GH. Hers is 1.73 GHz and her graphics card is mobile intel(R) 965 express chipset family. Is there any solution? If not is it ok to install xp instead? When I try to the computer will not allow me to downgrade? Any help mush appreciated,

If the system is new, return it and order a Studio 1535 or an XPS M1530.

The Inspiron 1525 is a low-end budget machine - not suited for any level of gaming, nor is it upgradeable.

As the previous poster stated that is a low end budget model.  The intel Express Graphics card which is a step up from the Extreme model is not meant for gaming.  Those cards use what is called shared memory which means say for example the laptop came with 1GB of RAM and 512MB of that was used for video Windows and the rest of the applications only have 512MB which is 1/2 of 1GB to work with as the previous poster also stated if you are within your 30 days return it and get your money back then order her a laptop with an ATI or Nvidia graphics solution that has dedicated memory for the video like for example if the video card say ATI RADEON HD (Model #) with 512MB of RAM then that would get her SIMS 2 and whatever other games she wants to run on it.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately her laptop is three months old but I will know better next time!
