Inspiron 1545 Won't Power On
Hi, guys, it's me again.
My aunt is having another problem with her computer. Her Inspiron 1545 won't power on. Here's what happened: last night, she had her laptop plugged in and on. The screen went blank, the power light turned red, and shut off. She can't turn it back on. She has tried turning it on with and without the battery in the laptop and plugged in. Does anyone have any clue what she should do? She's got assignments due soon, so she's looking for a quick fix.

Try while holding the Fn button down, hit the power button, don't release the Fn button
or
Hold the D key, press the power button, release both

Hi rainingcatsandadog,
Please check if there is any indication of power on the system and the ac adapter when you turn on the system. If there is no power, please follow the steps provided below.
Connect the ac adapter to a known good power outlet. Check the power LED indicator on the ac adapter (without plugging it into the laptop)
If the LED on the ac adapter is not lit, please reseat the power cables to the brick. If there is still no light coming up on the ac adapter, it would mean that the ac adaptor and the power cord may be faulty.
If the led on the ac adapter is on, then remove all external peripherals, switch off the system, and remove the battery, ac adapter and the power cable. Press and hold down the power button for thirty seconds to drain any excess static power.
After performing the above steps, and if there is no power on the system then the motherboard may be faulty. You can also try reseating the memory and check if the issue persists.
To remove and reseat the memory using the link below

In this link punch in the system service tag or express service code and you can access the user manual.
Let me know about the progress.
