Inspiron 5160 vs 5150 current drain

Hi

We use 5150/60s at our workplace, we have identical spec (3.20Hz, 1GB RAM) 5150s and 5160s.   The 5160s running the newer Prescott CPU last about 1:55 hr on battery compared to the 5150 running the Northwood - about 4:00 hr.  Running identical applications on max battery mode the 5160 consumes power at about 2 to 2.5 x the rate of a 5150.   I realise the newer Prescott CPU draws higher voltage and the fan has be remapped to run at higher speeds to address cooling problems but I'm still surprised at the large difference.

Any other inspiron users noticed this?  But otherwise very reliable laptops.

I have in Inspiron 5160, and my battery seems to last between 2.5 and 3.5 hours on portable laptop power setting. Could change depending on what i am using it for. Mine is only 2.8 ghz with HT and 512 ram though , maybe that makes a difference?
