Integrated Webcam for Dell Inspiron N5110

Hello there,

I recently re-installed my operating system (windows 7 64 bit home premium) a month ago to get rid of some software problems. Unfortunately, my webcam doesn't work and is not being detected by any program that uses it. There is NO imaging or anything for the webcam in the device manager either. I am at a loss. I have tried just about everything that anyone has said. I had this same problem when I restarted my windows last year due to a virus and it was fixed (through fighting with DELL support, which is another rant all on it's own). I just want to know how to install it to be recognized. I tried taking the battery out and pressing the power button for a certain amount of time [no luck], I installed the webcam central (this was after I was trying to install drivers and the like, so please don't tell me to uninstall that and re-install it. I know that won't work, it's logic), I tried the diagnostics for the webcam, but nothing either. will someone just tell me how to get the driver for my webcam on the n5110?

Thanks,

Katelyn

Hi Kate_Dot,

We apologize for the inconvenience, as you’ve installed the drivers for the Dell webcam central and it is not detected in device manager.
Please try running a diagnostics test on your camera to check the functionality of the webcam, click on the below link.
http://dell.to/1dFtXxL

Type in the Service tag of your computer and click on Dell PC Diagnostics
Select option Hardware and select Camera and click on Run Diagnostics.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi Kate_Dot,

Thank you for your response, since you ran the tests on the hardware which passed all the devices.
Please run the diagnostics specifically on the Camera this time, if the camera is fine it will start testing the
webcam and if not it will give you an error saying “Camera not detected” or a similar message.
Click on the below link and perform diagnostics on Camera again.

Hi Kate_Dot

Hope you are doing well..!!

I wanted to check on the status of the webcam issue you've had with your computer. Was the issue resolved or does it still persist?

Please provide an update.
