Latitude D820 Battery not Charging
My Latitute D820 battery doesn't charge when the power cord is plugged in, but the computer runs fine on the AC power. Everytime I plug it in, an error message says, "Your system will operate slower and the battery will not charge. Please connect a Dell 90W AC adapter or higher for best system operation."
Last week I borrowed a friends power cord that was idenitcal to mine, and it instantly started charging the battery. Dell sent me a new AC adapter and power cord today, and when I plugged it in, the same error message popped up and my battery did not start charging. I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my computer and not the power cord, but if this is the case, then why does my friends cord work correctly?

Thank you for posting your message at the Dell Community Forums.
Does *your* adapter work on your friends computer? If so, you may be experiencing an issue with the AC adapter port on the motherboard.

First thing to try is a new OEM Dell AC adapter. If that doesn't solve the problem, on this model, the power port isn't separately replaceable, so you'll need to replace the system board.
