Latitude D820 Sigmatel Stac9200 driver problem
Hi
I have just re-installed XP professional.
All drivers work except for the Sigmatel STAC9200 driver. I downloaded it from the dell support site
However i dont get sound. When I look at Sounds and Audio devices in control panel it says No Audio Device
Any ideas?

I poked around an found a file called kb835221.exe in C:\dell\drivers\R171789\HDAQFE\win2k_xp\us
After running this exe windows then installed the correct drivers

I have exactly the same problem as you, but your solution doesn´t work to me.

spent more time on this problem than i care to admit, and this is the solution. all other drivers, driver installers, dell utilities, etc failed. this worked immediately. wish i didnt have to dig through google results for hours to find it.
