Latitude E6410 + E-Port Plus Docking Station problems
I am working on a Dell Latitude E6410 (that is btw a really nice laptop) and I've recently obtained an E-Port Plus Docking station to go with it.
The problems started right the day I tried to install it. I plugged in the included 130W power Supply (laptop is using the 90W), then I docked my powered off laptop onto it. The docking EJECT button lights up and the laptop battery recharges.
So far everything went good until I turned on the laptop (using either the dock power button or the laptop one). I press the button, the laptop turns on, the 2 lights on the docking turn off (Power and Eject) and I hear the power supply making some static noises. The laptop runs slow and when I get in windows, I notice the system is running on the battery, not detecting the power supply, anything plugged to the docking isn't detected by windows. Checking the docking, the power and docking lights flashes on and off quickly each ~10-15 seconds.
I tried with another brand new 130W AC from work, with the laptop's 90W and both give the same result. I tried all the adapters with the laptop only and they are all working fine and detected, but as soon as the docking is plugged in and the laptop is running, itt's just like it doesn't have enough power or might have some short within it.
Defective or am I doing something wrong? O.o

I use an E6410 for my work system. At the office I use an E port. The one thing that I can suggest to press down on the rear left and right corner of the notebook to make sure that the notebook is firmly connected. The eject button should be fully extended, and the eject button should be lit.
If you are sure that the notebook is correctly seated on the docking station and you still have the problem I suggest having the docking station replaced first. If the same problem continues on a different docking station then you may wish to consider having a service set up for the notebook.
