Latitude E6510 : How to install Windows 7 64 bit
Hello everyone,
on my E6510 I did install 8gb ram but windows 7 32 bit recognizes only 4GB.
I'm thinking of switching to the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Professional, but I have doubts about the license key and the drivers.
First, when changing from 32-bit to 64-bit, the current license is valid?
If it is not, can I get a valid license from my actual?
Finally, the drivers, are all supported?
There is an image of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (eg iso) downloadable from the Dell site with all the drivers and applications for my laptop?

The license key sticker on the system will show the version it's good for. The license key is valid for either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows.
You can get the ISO for Windows 7 from Digital River by download.

Hi,
unfortunately there is no sticker on my laptop.
About the website Digital River, in truth I was looking for official image from the Dell website.

OEMs do not provide Windows for downloading - and if there's no sticker on the system, it either didn't ship with Windows originally or went to an organization that has a volume license agreement with Microsoft. In either case you'll need to purchase a Windows license for use with the system (and can obtain Windows from Digital River or at retail, as you wish).
If you're the original owner of the system, you can contact Dell to obtain a recovery media set (free under warranty; there's a charge if the warranty has expired).

Hello,
there is only one sticker with the logo of Windows 7 (does not specify whether 32 or 64 bit), not the one that shows the license key.
The laptop is owned by the company I work for, I use it for work.
I tried to download an iso to install windows 7 professional 64 bit and I created a vmware vm entering the product key proceeds from my windows, but after installation it appears that the product key is not valid.

A Dell Windows 7 OEM key will not work in a virtual machine. The virtual machine has a non-Dell BIOS and is therefore classed as a non-Dell system.
