Obtain original drivers from an old Dell computer

How can I get the original drivers from my system?

 My system has all kind of virus on it and the display only shows large print and limited color when I try to load XP.

Here is the System Info

System                            = Dell DM051

BIOS Version                  =  A05  (03/31/06)

I am writing this on my Apple MacBook Pro

You posted 2 instead of Z earlier on which gave the Dimension E310 the service tag with the Z gives the Dimension E510.

It appears it shipped with XP Media Centre Edition and it mentions media reduction initiative so likely it didn't ship with the Dell Windows XP Media Centre with SP2 Reinstallation DVD.

This XP Edition is relatively rare and hard to find on the likes of eBay.

It has an Intel Processor D 820, it only has 1 GB of RAM and a 160 GB HDD. The video card is the ATI Radeon X300.

Regarding Windows 10 compatibility it will work only with the 32 Bit Edition as the processor doesn't meet the elevated requirements for Windows 10 64 Bit. The memory is low and should be upgraded to at least 2-4 GB (the lack of RAM will also be giving you performance issues):

Crucial says the maximum is 8 GB but for a 32 Bit OS the maximum you can use is 4 GB. Its not worth spending a lot of money on the system however as its aging.

If you want to try and fix your XP video issue then try to install the following (in order - use your other system to download them to a USB flash drive):

Larry I have been trying to help you on Microsoft Answers. The problem is that other people are posting additional information aswell and that threads got very confused.

That service tag indicates the system is a Dimension 3100/E310 and not a 5100/E510 as you posted there.

I gave you information about Windows 10 Technical Preview on Microsoft Answers; Windows 10 Technical Preview would have worked well on a E510 but not on a E310 because of the poor video on the E310.

I only looked at what was written on the console. With all the junk and moving around I did with the computer    I can't find the Reinstallation CD.

With this computer theres not too much you can do. The Dell Windows XP Reinstallation CD would help to give you a clean installation without viruses. You can attempt to buy the CD second hand from ebay but its not worth spending much time in this model it is after all a decade old.

You can however attempt to run Windows Defender offline on it:

I have given you the link to the drivers for your service tag install the Dell System Software, the Chipset and then the rest of the drivers. This will give you basic functionality but as mentioned XP is very insecure and its use should be avoided.

This system doesn't have the hardware to run a new Windows version such as Windows 10 very well. A new system would be better. Even the cheapest Dell desktop system being sold on the market today will run rings around the Dimension E310. If on a tight budget a second hand ex-business system such as an OptiPlex 760/780 may run better and be a better purchase than a new Windows license (as they will come with a Windows 7 OEM license eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10). Second hand versions of these models will run much better than the Dimension E310 and cost about the same price as a new Windows license (with the added bonus they will run much better).

This is all very confusing to me. When I look at the console front panel it shows

DELL DIMENSION E510

when I look at the back of the console it shows the service tag
