Other Devices Driver Problems with a Dell Vostro 3500 Laptop

WOW! So know one here or at DELL has a clue? lol.

Same issue Win XP sp3 vostro 3500 "pci simple communications controller"

it would sure be helpful if Dell would name their drivers something other than cryptic numbers.

I am having a similar issue too. I've downgraded from windows 7 to xp and cannot find the wireless driver for the life of me! I've searched everywhere and all the drivers I find are either for the wrong OS or the wrong Model and none work.

I have never had this much of a challenge trying to reload windows on a dell machine before, this is ridiculous! A funny thing about a fresh installation on this machine is that dell directions always highly recommend loading the NSS/DSS before loading any drivers, however this does not exist either on the dell website or on the driver disc.

Dell, please help! This machine has to be able to connect via wi-fi or i'll have to exchange or return it.

Go with an Asus or HP lol...

I think it's really crazy they put wireless driver that doesn't work. maybe HP it's better for their driver compatibility

I have exactly the same problem and same configuration, I try every wireless driver for the vostro 3500 on dell.com nothing work.

I called dell support and was informed that this issue is not covered under free support but that I was welcome to pay for support.

I just got an affordable notebook for around the house from Dell. It's a Dell Vostro 3500 Laptop. It came with Windows 7 Professional 32-bit but since then I have upgraded the OS to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Edition. Since doing the upgrade I can not seem to find driver support for other devices on this notebook in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The PCI Driver will be the Intel Management Engine under 'Chipset'.

One of the unknow devices would either be bluetooth software in 'Network' or the finger print driver, which is more likely.

I am still looking for the other unknown device when i have found it I'll let you know.  Remember to select the OS verison from the drop down to get the 32 ro 64 BIt drivers, Links above are for 64Bit.

I have found what the 3rd Unknown device is, it a ST Micro Free Fall detection software link to install below;

Although it doesn't says its compatibility is with the Vostro it work fine.
