Secondary Modular Bay Battery for Inspiron 8500/8600

Question

Has anyone else out there had an INSANE time trying to find this part? It is not online, through any of the typical searches one might do to find it. I finally called in, after e-mailing support (the number they gave me consistently routed me through infinite call center menus, and finally hung up on me), and talked to someone in the Dell Systems sales area, who finally found the part.

Here are the details, if anyone is interested:

What is going on with Dell service? I am a having a hard time getting anything done. I get annoying automated-answer e-mails when I respond to service ticket related e-mail, I get a database error when I try to log in to "My Account," and many of the online call center menus route me to dead ends and then hang up.

This interesting. That part I received is a Sanyo battery. Nowhere does it say that it fits a 8500/8600, but it does work, and charges up. Finding detailed information about the battery in the control panel shows that it is:

Battery: DELL 0007P8
Unique ID: 142SanyoDELL 0007P8
Chemistry: LiP
Manufacturer: Sanyo

Is this a lithium polymer battery? The primary is Lithium Ion.
