So Disappointed with my M6800. Fingerprint not working
I bought a new Dell Workstation M8600 with very high specs that costed me around 7000USD. When I received my laptop it shipped with app called DDP Console. I have tried to set my Fingerprint but the sensor does not recognize that I am placing my finger. I went to Dell support website and download both :-
1. Dell ControlVault Driver
CV_Drv_Setup_D2JF6_A14_64bit_ZPE.exe | Hard-Drive (15 MB)
Security|
Release date 16 Dec 2013
|Last Updated 02 Dec 2014

2. Dell ControlVault Firmware Update
ControlVault_Setup_09J7J_A33_ZPE.exe | Hard-Drive (6 MB)
Security|
Release date 16 Dec 2013
when I run ushupgrade.exe I get message says"The Credential Management is initialized. Please enter the ControlVault Admin Password to update the ControlVault Firmware." I have no idea what is my CV Admin Password. I have not set any password in bios at all. and if I use my windows user password it start displaying
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This program will update the ControlVault firmware
from 23.7.405.0 to 23.7.405.0.
Once started, do not interrupt process.
Going to stop Host Services.
Credential Vault Host Control Service ... stopped.
Credential Vault Host Storage ... stopped.
Going to stop Host and DCP tasks.
Checking current ControlVault status.
Found ControlVault Chip Type: 5882 B0 CustID 7
Going to update the SBI.
Going to clear SCD.
Going to reset ControlVault.
Waiting for ControlVault to come up. (~5 seconds)
Going to update the BCM. (~40 seconds)
Going to reset ControlVault.
Waiting for ControlVault to come up. (~5 seconds)
Going to update the PBA. (~5 seconds)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then it asks me to place my finger of the sensor. AND when I place my finger I get the below message:
---------------------------
ControlVault Firmware Upgrade
---------------------------
ERROR: ControlVault Admin authorization failure.
The ControlVault Admin Password was incorrect.
Rerun this utility with the correct ControlVault Admin Password.
---------------------------
ERROR(00000008): Could not update the PBA.
ERROR: Could not update ControlVault firmware.
Restart the system and try again.
---------------------------
Please help me.

Good day !
Given in this situation I would ask you to try these steps and advise the result ,
*Go to control panel , uninstall the Control vault driver and then restart the system .
*Then go to control panel again , uninstall the control panel firmware and restart the system .
*After this via control panel uninstall the DDPA application and make sure system is restarted .
*Then go to support site enter the system service tag ,select the correct operating system and install the Control vault driver ( after which restart the system ) ,then the control vault firmware ( restart the system ) and then the DDPA driver .
Even after installing these drivers if the issue is seen then its hardware issue .Kindly forward the service tag of the system via private message so that I can assist you with the links for the driver .
I hope this helps .
Awaiting your response .
Kindest Regards ,
AlMaqdad

I would like to thank you a lot for the support. The technician arrived at my location. He was very polite and smart person. He replaced a front panel for the laptop that include fingerprint scanner. AND the problem has been solved immediately , the fingerprint scanner now working perfectly.
I am very happy now, Thank you again for the support.
