Switch cover with Inspiron N5010?
My daughter has an Inspiron N5010 laptop, which I understood was part of the "r" series. I bought her a "Switch" laptop cover, but her computer doesn't have a button at the back of the factory cover to release and replace it as shown in the videos. Can we still use this new cover, or is it not for all "r" series Dell laptops?

It's an option - not on all systems. If the release isn't there, the cover isn't switchable.

Hi kokokringle,
Welcome to the community.
The Inspiron N5010 does not support the customer install switchable lids as demonstrated in videos.
However, there are other models in the Inspiron R series that support switch lids.
Glad to help.

Hi kokokringle,
My name is Sandeep and I am working for Dell Social media and community forum.
I wanted to let you know that this particular model (Inspiron N5010) does not ship with switch cover as it’s not compatible, so you will not be able to use it on this system as not all “R” series go with switch cover.
Please feel free to reply if you have any more questions.
Thanks,
