Touchpad is not appearing in my device manager!

With the problem that I posted as below, I took my laptop to Dell service centre in Chennai, where they diagonised it to have a hardware issue with not only the Touchpad, but also with the "odd". hence i heve left ithther for service, and I thank you all for having spared time to read my issue.................................................

In my new Dell inspiron N5010 laptop the touchpad is missing from the device manager. On further digging I got yhe following message:

Symptom:

Cause:

A device has a configuration problem that prevents it from working properly.

The device, PS/2 Compatible Mouse, is reporting "tv_ConfigMgrErr24". This device will not be available until the issue is resolved. The Plug and Play ID for this device is ACPI\DLL0447\4-7AE34D4-0.

Resolution:

1. Verify the correct driver is installed.

2. Try updating the drivers using Windows Update.

3. Check with the manufacturer for an updated driver.

4. Attempt to uninstall and then reinstall the device using Device Manager.
