VGA as RS232 port

Does any one know if the VGA port can be converted to an RS232 port and how this can be done? With a driver? I have a dell Inspiron and need to drive a RS232 output, but this computer doesn't have RS232. If this is not possible, can someone give me a list of computers that do support RS232.

Thanks,

Alex

No, you can't use a VGA output as a serial port - but there are USB to serial converters that might work (whether one will depends on the device you're trying to use).

Thanks, I'll be looking into both of these options.

They still seem to have them, but the picture on the Dell site already shows them without serial and parallel, so I think that there will be a change soon.
