Video Thermistor Faulty 3900-0626
I have Dell Studio 1558 with ATI HD5470 graphics card. Recently I am facing abrupt system shutdown. Boot Dignostics shows 3900-0626 Video Thermistor Faulty error, but AIDA64 shows normal GPU Diode temperatures and rarely goes beyond 85C. Kindly let me know the fix for this issue other than motherboard replacement as my system is currently out of warranty.

Hi paramdeepsaini,
3900-0626 error is related to bad temperature sensor on the system board. You may remove reseat the memory on the system and then run the hardware diagnostics again. If you receive same error you will have to replace the motherboard.

The thermistor can't be replaced without replacing the mainboard - and the shutdown setpoint can't be changed -- so, there is no fix other than a replacement mainboard.
