Vostro 1500 PP22L Laptop
I purchased this unit at a Law Enforcement Auction and when I try to boot I get the white and gray screen requiring an administrator password in order to start from F2 or F12 boot options. Is there away to reset this password?????
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Return the system - it is password protected, and Dell will not assist other than the registered owner in removing the password. Otherwise, replace the mainboard.

you try clearing the CMOS/BIOS to clear the password
it works with desktops
just locate the little round batter, disconnect it and reconnect it, its under one of the panels on the bottom of the laptop , i believe the memory panel
let me know if that works, i'd hope not personally because i set a password for mine and would hate someone to be able to clear it so easily if it was stolen or auctioned off by cops :P

Removing the battery will do nothing to remove the password on a Dell notebook.
