Vostro 2510 won't boot with battery installed
My wife and I have identical Vostro 2510s. Lately hers will not boot with the battery installed, even if it is connected to AC power.
The power light comes on briefly and then turns off.
When I remove the battery, the computer boots.
Even after all this, the Num Lock status light blinks constantly. I looked on a list of error codes for the status lights and the ONLY error code not listed was this one.
Anyone have ideas? The battery is relatively new since Dell replaced the battery a year ago due to the same thing (no boot with battery installed).

Well, I may have found my own answer - maybe this will help someone else.
Poking around in the BIOS, I noticed that the Service Tag was blank. I entered the correct service tag, saved and rebooted.
Voila! no blinking light.
I'm not sure how the BIOS lost it's info. Maybe a flaky BIOS backup battery...
