Vostro 3560 9-cell Battery NEEDED!!!
Hi Everyone,
I've tried several methods to improve battery life on my Vostro 3560 i7 laptop, including several posts in this forum.
The amount I can improve it by tweaking some of the setting is little to none.
I am getting between 2-2.5 hours on a brand new battery supplied by Dell.
Some of my classes are 2-3 hours and it usually dies before the end of class.
I need a 9 cell because the 6 just does give me enough time.
Is the 11.1V 9 cell M5Y0X battery which will physically connect to the V3560 work?
If i buy one will it cause any problems to my laptop?
Is it supported by Dell?

Hi dan karp,
Vostro 3560 laptop does not support 9 cell battery, this system is designed for 6 cell battery only.
For more tips to improve the battery life, you may refer to the link below.

I hope you find this useful.

Why?
If it physically could fit, what would be the issue?
Would it do damage to the system?
The battery issue is only for taking notes in class and it does not last 2 hours.
Your specifications say it should last longer that that.
I am running the setting in the most power efficient settings that actually effect the performance of the system and its graphics.
I still cannot get the battery life that I expected from this system.
So again, not concerned about the support any more, will the 9 cell harm the system if I buy it?

The one you have referenced won't fit the system - it's designed for a Latitude E-series, which has an entirely different chassis.

Are you corrected when you say "it's designed for a Latitude E-series".
The 6 cell battery that i currently have in my Vostro is a "T54FJ" which is also available for the Latitude E-series.
So if that battery can be used in both, why not the 11.1V 9 cell "M5Y0X" battery which fits the same Latitude E-series that support the 6 cell T54FJ ?

You can go ahead and try it - but Dell specifically states it's compatible with the Vostro 3350 -- but doesn't mention the 3360 -- so you may be out a restock fee and shipping if it happens not to work.
