What's exactly the Wifi catcher ?

Little question, what's exactly the wifi catcher on right left of the laptop ?

It's just a viewer for wich wifi are in range ? or it's for config the connection, or it's for replace the vista connect to screen ?

It's a shortcut to the networking screen. It can also be used when the unit is off. Hit the button and if there's wireless in the area I believe it shows up green.

I haven't gone around playing with mine yet.
