XPS 17 L702X - 2 HD Drive Bays
I hear that the XPS 17 L702X laptop has 2 drive bays. Interesting. I'm not used to thinking of laptops as needing 2 bays.
Just wondering:
1) Aside from a RAID config or local backups, what's the use? Certainly 1 HD should have enough space for most people.
2) If not installing a 2nd HD, can I use the space for anything else?
3) If I did want to install a 2nd HD, would I just pop it in and go from there (Windows format, etc.)? Or are there hardware/jumper configurations to consider?
No hard feelings on Q#1 above -- just wondering what people are using this 2nd bay for.
Thanks.

1)This system is not configured for RAID Array. Most people use the second as (restore points, backups, games, pics, files etc...).You can also use it to dual boot different OS's.
2)No,It is a HDD bay
3)Install the drive as usual, open computer from control panel >right click on the drive and format it,ready to go.Once the drive is in place and connected windows installs the drivers(2006 old but nothing new yet)
