XPS 1730 Slowdown CPU running 100% & Mainboard 60C & GPU 55C

I just got this machine a few days ago. Frustrated over performance as It was running and responding poorly for no apparent reason. Apps runing: Word,Dreamweaver, Firefox, fireworks.

I reinstalled XP on fresh partition and the problem persists. I feel like typing on a pentium 1 as the screen updates too slow!

Should I also be concerned of the temps:

mainboard 60 C

GPU 55C

Welcome to the forums :smileyhappy:

I can't explain it being slow - since that can be caused by any number of different things (i.e. a hardware problem, the number of programs/processes running at startup, spyware etc)... but your temps are fine.

You might want to run the diagnostics tests, just to check for any hardware problems?

Thanks.. Unbelievable that the chipset is hot, it can reach 63C in idle ambient 29C. 965 should be cool from my experience. Anyway, I feel much better now, I think it could be because of memory leak from application, not sure which but will find out later when I have time.
