XPS Mouse wandering and minimizing Screen to desktop
Hey, so I have an XPS and this problem seems to just be getting worse. I can be in the middle of an activity and it is like the mouse will suddenly go directly to the "peek at desktop" button on task bar and minimize my whole screen, even while I am in the middle of typing. This is getting really annoying. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Is this a laptop issue or a Windows 7 issue?

Hi Cchemist,
Welcome to the community.
I am really sorry to hear about the issue. However, this seems to be an issue with the touchpad drivers. Please go to the link below and enter your service tag, you will get all the drivers for your system. Go to input drivers and install the touchpad drivers from there.

Hi Cchemist,
Welcome to the Dell Community,
Thank you for posting on Dell Community Forum, regarding cursor jumping on XPS
It is a known issue on some of the laptops. It is usually caused by touchpad sensitivity.
Look for the touchpad icon on the taskbar. When you rest the cursor over it, it should read "Dell Touchpad".
Double-click it. Click "Device Select" and check "Disable Touchpad / Pointing Stick when external USB mouse is present and see if it helps.
Then you can click on Touchpad settings and adjust touchpad speed and sensitivity, play around with the settings and see if you can increase control on the cursor.
If there are no Touchpad icon on the taskbar click on start, control panel and then mouse. Click on Touchpad and you should be able to bring up the same menu.
If there are no Dell Touchpad options under Mouse in Control panel, I suggest downloading and installing the touchpad drivers from the following link.

You can find more information about touchpad troubleshooting at the following link.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I downloaded the drivers and restarted my laptop, but the problem still is occurring. I don't know if it has to do with mouse sensitivity because my laptop will do this even when I am not touching it.

Hi cityboy3,
Thank you for your quick response. Since the issue still persists even after installing the touchpad driver and the setting the sensitivity, I request you to accept my friend request on this Dell community forum and provide the service tag of the computer so that we can follow up on it further.
Please reply to the post if you have any further queries.
Thanks & Regards
