Your system is low on memory.... WHY?! (Inspiron 1525)
Your system is low on memory.
I am getting this message and I do not understand why. I have a grand total of 3 window open when I received this message. I am running Vista Ultimate and have 2 Gigs of RAM. When I checked the Resource Monitor it showed:
CPU <10% usage - 77% MaximumFrrequency
Disk 4 kb/sec - 4% Highest Active Time
Memory 1 Hard Faults/sec - 58% Used Physical Memory
Running programs were:
Outlook 2003
Dreamweaver 8
Firefox 2.0
I was working in Dreamweaver when I got the message. The memory useage seems high - I never get the memory message on any of my other PC's and they have half the RAM and usually several more windows open. Is the memory usage abnormal?
What can I do to improve this? I need MANY windows open to do perform my job. This kind of performance is unacceptable.
Thanks

Vista is a memory HOG,i would suggest increasing the ram up to 3gb or possibly 4gb.But i have not yet come across a post with someone running low on ram with vista installed, this is a first.
Anyone else have a thought?..

How much of your hard drive has been used, and how much hard drive space do you have free.

Well you have plenty of hard drive space for your swap file. Sometimes you will get an out of memory error when you have used all of your RAM plus your Swap file. In XP it is called a pagefile which may be what it is called in Vista also. You can try increasing it.
