The manual for a 9400 claims -40 - 149, but personally I would leave a notebook out in cold or hot weather. Plus you'd probably have to wait a couple hours for it to warm up before using it safely.

LCD's freeze, batteries freeze, things with liquid tend to physically break when frozen solid. If you do forget the laptop in the car bring it inside and allow it to warm up slowly. Basically the same is true for most electronic things.

One other problem is condensation. It will get inside the unit if you bring it in from the cold into a warm but also humid room.
