how to turn on numlock precision m4400?
I don't get it. I thought it should be Fn + F4. The numlock light is on, but the embedded numerics do not work. What am I doing wrong? Some BIOS setting or what?

Once numlock is on (Fn + F4 as you indicated) you need to hold down Fn while typing. For example, if the light is on an you type in Fn + u, it will type a 4.
