international ownership transfer
i recently bought an alienware 14 off ebay. the seller promised that he would be able to transfer the ownership under my name, but he failed to do so because he could not supply the original owner's info (obviously he is not the original owner). eBay is not helping me at all with this problem and now I am stuck with an expensive laptop that has no warranty at all because the ownership is not under my name. It's appaling because I paid a laptop which supposedly had 2 years enhance and complete care warranty. the dell tag transfer team is not helpful as well. when the initial attempt to transfer the warranty failed, it said that, and I quote "
Kindly fill the online form www.dell.com/dhs/globaltagtransfer again with express service code along with additional information
Country of current registration if the product was transferred from one region to another, Name of the store if purchased from a retail store, in the comments box."
but as you all know, the transfer form has no comment box.
could someone please help me with my problem?

Issue the seller an ultimatum: transfer the warranty with Dell or refund the purchase price and take back the system.
Without the original owner's information, Dell won't transfer the warranty.

well, that's the problem. The seller stopped communicating with me and ebay ruled that, since I moved the laptop to another country, the seller cannot be made liable for it. The decision of ebay does not make any sense because its the fact that the seller lied to me prior to purchase and now eBay doesn't think that he is liable for what happened. furthermore, I know that the ownership can be made transferred to my country because I have done it before without any problems.

Ownership transfer requires that the registered owner be known -- that's a standard Dell policy.
Unless the seller can provide that information (and it seems they cannot), you're out of luck - hopefully the system won't require warranty service, since you have no warranty.
