please help - need instructions on installing new dvd/cd drive

silly me - I got a new dvd/cd drive for my Dell Inspiron 6000 on ebay and it did not come with instructions on how to install it.  My Dell at work has the type you just pull out and replace like plug and play.  Didn't notice this one is not the same - until now.  Is this something a novice can do?
