Dell Inspiron 24 5415 All-In-One (AIO) - No display

Our office recently purchased 8 Dell AIO, we did installation of all the PCs and they are working fine except one PC which after installation completed and turned off. We were unable to start it again, the power button LED is showing PC started but we have black display.

Need advice for primary troubleshooting before it goes back to workshop for repair/replacement.

PCs are still under warranty.

This one may be a lemon.  Since it is brand new better ask Dell to replace it than tinkering yourself.

@Stanekzai  What color is power button and steady or blinking? If blinking, count the blinks which is an error code.

Did somebody accidentally press the Display Built-in Self Test button/Input-source selection button on bottom edge of the screen? It's right next to the power button, so probably easy to press the wrong button...

This button has two functions:

  1. When the computer is on, use this button to select the video input-source.

Press the button to switch the display between the internal system display and HDMI input.

  2. When the computer is off (there is no power; neither is it in sleep state nor hibernate state), use this button to run the built-in self-test for the display.

Press and hold down this button, and then press the power button to turn on the computer. The built-in color pattern for the LCD monitor will appear on the screen.

So first, power PC on and press/release that button to see if it was accidentally changed to use an HDMI input (eg: DVD player, game console, laptop etc) because that would make the built-in display black if no external HDMI input was connected.

If #1 doesn't help, follow #2 to test the LCD screen. And if it fails #2, it's time to contact Tech Support. Have the Service Tag available. (Don't post it here.)
