During the Scan Hardware test I'm getting Network Card - Failed
Hardware Scan Result (Manual) - Default scan - Failed - November 9, 2021 1:17:59 PM
- Network Card - Failed
Error Code List
- PCI Express Status Test - WPE01-EH4
Can anyone tell me what this error code is? Also could it be associated with an XBOX adapter for the controllers?
Any place to look at the error codes?
Thanks

And what version of BIOS is running?
The rear USB2 ports should be for you mouse and keyboard. You should connect the XBOX adapter to one of the two USB3.2 ports above the USB2 and network ports.
Might just be a false error message, but re-scan after you move that adapter to a USB3.2 port.
What else is connected to this PC?
BTW: You may do better with a CAT 6 (or higher) Ethernet cable. CAT 5 isn't rated for speeds >100 Mbps. The onboard network adapter in this PC is rated for up to 1000 Mbps.

Always include exact PC model and version of Windows in your posts.
Was this a SupportAssist hardware scan?
How is that XBOX adapter installed, plugged into an internal PCI-e slot, via USB...?
How do you connect to the internet, Ethernet cable to modem or WiFi? Does your internet connection work?
Open Device Manager and see if a network controller or other device is marked with a ! or X. And look for any "Unknown" devices in Device Manager too. If you find any unknown, right-click and uninstall them. Be good idea to manually set a System Restore point before you uninstall anything.
And a good idea to back up all your files on external media, to be safe...

Just picked up Dell Inspiron 3891.
Loaded Windows 11
Plug-in the XBOX adapter in the Back usb 2.0 port.
Connected to the Network with Cat-5 cable. The network seems to be working just getting the error when I scan.
Support had be re-install the drivers on the system. But the error is sometimes there and sometimes it runs clean.
I was just asking what the code meant?

Do you get the same the error with the XBOX adapter unplugged? Does that adapter need a firmware update or is there a newer driver?
There's an old thread with same SupportAssist error for different PC model and for a different device and the solution says it requires a BIOS update. That may or not help you...
Do you have the latest BIOS installed? Read/follow instructions carefully to update BIOS. And it's always safer to update BIOS following the installation instructions on that page for Updating the BIOS from BIOS Boot Menu (independent of operating system).

The error is still there, I understand a lot of different things could be causing the issue. Been trying different things.
Bluetooth is working
Network is working
The whole issue is, the error is there during the test. Sometimes it is not and but most times the failure is reported. I still do not understand what the error code is stating.

When ever your told to go to The Device Manager, what all of them leave out that should be your FIRST thing to do is FIRST of all CLICK on the VIEW TAB and scroll down and CLICK on "SHOW HIDDEN DEVICES"(some people never heard of Unknown Devices), then look for ! or ? or X. They sometimes don't show up if you don't.
Just bought a Dell 3891 and had it for a week. Noticed my Prem Support was kicking in to RENEW and I cancelled it, then guess what showed up when I was doing the same Scan RIGHT after I cancelled Subscription, the same as you experienced......"Network Scan Failed", same as yours..........just saying. THEN,
yesterday, I cancelled that McAfee Norton or whatever freebie for a year they give you, and guess what. As soon as I got rid of it, BOOM, a Trojan Variant popped up and low and behold McAfooey said to start Program back up and their Program would quarantine it. I have Adaware and Advanced System Care protecting me, and it was NOT detected by them, and their Databases ARE HUGE.......just saying.
