Inspirion 620 After Market CPU Fan help
Hi, so I recently upgraded my CPU on the OEM motherboard and I've realized the temperatures are a bit higher than what I would like them to be. I want to put in after market cpu fan but I'm not sure if it will work. I've tried searching this up and I've only found 1 or 2 posts. Some say it won't work and some say there is a way around that. Can someone help? Thanks

I can't tell for certain with the limited info in the manual, but it looks like a conventional mounted CPU cooling assembly and based on what I can see in the manual I would say it will support a better cooler. The stock cooler shown in the manual looks like the stock Intel supplied coolers with "retail" CPU's. I build my own desktops and have found the stock Intel cooler inadequate and use better coolers (in my case I'm using a liquid cooler).

I'm guessing I can take out the screw mounts off the back of the motherboard, but my only concern is if it will recognize the fan or if it will only accept dell fans

You will get a boot-up error on a fan failure if you use a non-Dell fan -- there is no way around it.

that fan is for an Inspiron 620s. not sure if it's for 620 as I also use an Inspiron 620 (not 620s) but have replaced the Intel i5-2310 CPU with an Intel i5-2500 several months ago and did not have to replace the original CPU fan.
