Inspiron 24-3455, CPU and Disk usage

I am not a "computer guy" but it seems like my speed is slow on this PC often, and when I look there is usually almost 100% usage of the CPU and Disk.  I don't have a lot of items on this PC or programs.  I'm trying to figure out if I need to upgrade something or something along those lines?  It has the AMD A8 processor, and 8 gig of Ram.  It seems Chrome is eating up most of the usage.  So maybe that's it?  Just looking for suggestions.

Thanks!

Did you install a bunch of Chrome extensions? That's a known cause for Chrome using lots of CPU time.  Read this to help figure out which Chrome extension(s) is causing the problem and then get rid of it. And you can always try Firefox instead of Chrome.

How much other junk is running in the background, like Dell SupportAssist, Dell Update, Adobe Updater, etc that you don't really need?

And good idea to scan thoroughly for malware with the free versions of Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware. The free versions only run on demand, and not all the time in the background, so they won't interfere with whatever anti-viral software you use all the time, eg Windows Defender, McAfee or Norton.

Machines with windows 10 especially with older chipsets will have disk pegged at 99 to 100 percent.  The fix for this is clean install onto SSD.

You then install DOTNET and INTEL RST with the drive set for AHCI not ATA or IRRT.

SSD's are now quite reasonable.
