Inspiron 3250 BIOS update stopped HDMI

Hi,

I just upgrade to 3.11.1 BIOS and my HDMI port stopped working, I already updated video drivers and still not working. I tried to downgrade to 3.9.0 BIOS but shows the message "3.11.1 version is protected, cant flash to 3.9.0 version", also tried to downgrade via USB but shows same message. All drivers are up to date.

Any advice? Thanks.

Try clearing BIOS:

  1. Reboot and immediately start tapping F2 to open BIOS setup
  2. Copy down all current BIOS settings, to be safe
  3. Power off, unplug
  4. Press/hold power button for ~15 sec
  5. Open case and remove motherboard battery (check Service Manual for details)
  6. Press/hold power button for ~30 sec
  7. Reinstall the battery (Time for fresh CR2032 3-volt coin cell battery? ~$2)
  8. Close up and connect mouse, monitor to HDMI, and keyboard
  9. Reboot

Does HDMI work now?

Make sure you are using the correct hdmi port. Your model has integrated video and maybe a discrete card. If you have both, only the discrete card works. To use the integrated video the video card must be physically removed.

Use the Dell customized drivers for the integrated video.
