Inspiron 3647, replacing HDD, Dell Backup and Recovery

What specific steps do I need to follow to replace the hard drive and perform a system recovery on a Inspiron 3647 with the following:

     Windows 10 OS

System and data backed up to an external hard drive using Dell Backup and Recovery v. 9

I've tried searching Support/Community for guidance on this and have come up with nothing.  An online chat with Dell Customer Support requesting a link or direction was uninspiring.  If a third party backup and restore software would be a better choice, please don't hesitate to make a recommendation.

Hi @Sly D ,

Recently I answered a post with detailed steps for hard drive cloning using Macrium Reflect, a free for home use tool. Check out this thread and see if any help.

I'm not familiar with that software. I use Macrium Reflect of do clean/fresh installs.

Not sure why you would want to, but if you are trying to get back to the software-buildup that Dell sent from the factory, you can try creating and using the Dell Recovery Image
