Inspiron 3668, upgrading PSU/GPU
Looking to see whether it'd be possible to put a GT 1030 or maybe a 1050ti into my Inspiron 3668. I understand that a full size card won't fit due to the size of the case itself, but I've seen some older threads with users who have managed to put these cards in with no apparent problem. Would this work?
Is it possible to upgrade the PSU? I understand that the case size means a standard PSU won't fit, but are there any of the same dimensions with a greater wattage? I can't seem to find any information about this.

you can install full height gpu in this mini tower pc. 1050/1050ti would be imo better gpu than 1030.
you may be able to upgrade to 280W or higher psu by using optiplex XE or Vostro 200s SFF psu and 24 to 6 pin adapter. not sure if you can close case cover when using those slim line psu. Would a 1050/1050ti work with the current PSU? I'm not in a position to open it up and check the exact dimensions, but the less stuff I have to replace the better.

The default base psu for 3668 is 240W. It is on the weak side for 300W recommendation of 1050/1050Ti, so depends on your video application you may or may not experience lock up or other issue. For basic Windows video operation, no problem.

The swing arm hdd cage hovers over the slim psu. Unless this cage can be dismantled it will be hard to upgrade the psu. Yes there is space in chassis wasted over the psu.
psu is about 9"x3.25"x2.5" (6x22x8 cm).

I opened it up and measured the PSU as being 6x22x8 cm (HxlxW). It seems like it wasn't taking up all the space it could have been though.
I'm not looking to play any games intensively, more go from the 20-30 fps average I get now up to 30-40, still on low settings.
