Inspiron 3847, CPU upgrade, Ryzen compatibility?
Im new to the whole PC upgrades thing and I would just like to ask if a Ryzen 5 1600 or 1700 is compatible with my model? I would like to swap out my Intel I3 4150 for a Ryzen 5 or 7 since it is relatively cheaper than a I5 or I7. I appreciate it

No not ever.
Ryzen is an AM4 socket AMD CPU
You have an 1150 socket INTEL CPU.
You cant use BETA Tapes in your VHS player either.
Nor can you play CD Roms on your phonograph.
