Inspiron 545s, need help
Greetings all,
I hope you're well, and getting better with each passing moment!
Thank U in advance for your time and consideration!
At this point i'm thoroughly demoralized. I'd at least like to save my professional graphics software and work files. I can make fascinating visual work using a computer, but I can't make a computer work right again. I can drive a car, but don't know how to fix one.
Do I need to go back to Windows 7 Ultimate? How when originally installed by download via internet?
How do I diagnose to make it reliable again? Is it hardware or software issue
Where could I find an expert to resolve this?
Has Windows 10 made my machine unstable?

You need to be specific about the issues you're having. "Unstable" doesn't mean anything to us.
Dell doesn't support this PC for Win 10, and Win 10 may not have the right drivers, so you may need to hunt around for them.
Have you searched these forums to see if there are any threads about installing Win 10 on the 545s?

most of those sold with vista, it's that old and old CORE2 processors. as old as 2007 made, 12 years old
some were XP, loaded. my guess is you upgraded 2 or 3 times to W7.
w10 how did that get installed, (fresh to erased HDD?)
w10 32bit
or w10 64bit, which one? and from MS, ISO build?
no symptoms stated, please tell all things a PC does good bad and ugly , all things, (so we get the picture)
first off is the newest GPU card drive loaded, if ATI from them , if Nvidia then from theme
2nd is, what errors are in the device manager, w10 loves to not support chips that are dead.
vast makers of chips are dead now, the wiki lists them its ENDLESS.
what we do with W10 is find what is bad with device manager, and replace things that have no drivers on earth for the dead chips.
even Intel ended support on their early HD PGU chips.
millions of folks upgraded to w10 and failed, its not a new issue at all, and is not dells or MS fault.
if the maker of a chip fails to release the driver that is the end, of that feature, (vista drivers old will not compatibility load to w10 in most cases.

sorry but not. this is turn on 10,000 PC made for 20 years, old. some fail 2010 for 64bit. even that new.
no OEM supports w10 on all PCs they ever made, not one, nor could they afford to...
put w7 back on it,
buy it if you lost the COA keys. IMO.!Q
