Inspiron 5675 CPU upgrade
I have the Dell Inspiron 5675 Desktop with the AMD A10 9700 CPU currently and it is unbearably slow, I am looking in to upgrading the CPU to the RYZEN 1600X. I have the Dell XFRWW Red Skull Bristol motherboard that came with it originally and I have been trying to confirm that I would have no issues upgrading to this CPU. As I have been reading through the Forum I have a mixed bag of results and need to know if this will work as I will be purchasing a new CPU shortly. Does anyone have any insight or Knowledge on this and know what CPUs will run with this platform without any issue?

Before thinking about a new CPU:
Is this a new problem?
Did you run the diagnostics from the F12 boot menu?
How much RAM is in this PC?
Do you have a hard drive or an SSD? An SSD would make things run faster.
What version of Windows?
How much junk is running in the background?
Have you scanned thoroughly for malware recently?

Is this a new problem? No, always lagging in games
Did you run the diagnostics from the F12 boot menu? Yes, everything came back great
How much RAM is in this PC? Recently upgraded to 16gb
Do you have a hard drive or an SSD? Yes I have a 250Gb SSD that has my OS and Games loaded on it
What version of Windows? Most recent update of Win10
How much junk is running in the background? Stopped all unnecessary processes when gaming
Have you scanned thoroughlyfor malware recently? Yes
Some games run fine, but most at medium graphics make it hard for the outdated CPU to keep up. I have been slowly updating my PC to run these games with ease. I have upgraded RAM with an additional 8gb stick and replaced the PSU with a 700 watt, Next are the CPU and GPU the most crucial upgrades. But Dell hasn't released a new BIOS update that supports new Ryzen processors so we are stuck with the first gen until then (Keep in mind I purchased this PC because Dell advertised how this would be a "Gamers" computer that would be able to be easily upgraded with "loads" of support). So my question still stands, will I have any issues with upgrading to the Ryzen 1600x and does Dell plan on future support for these desktops or was that just a marketing ploy? I know many are upset that these aren't as versatile as they were marketed to be and the support isn't there, when I first contacted Customer help about upgrading the CPU I was told "You cannot upgrade the processor, but I do have a new computer that may fit your needs". I purchased this computer 2 years ago and there is no reason I need to buy a new computer I just want to be able to update it.

I went ahead and threw a 1700x in my motherboard, which is the xfrww with single m.2 slot and one pcie x16 slot. It works just fine. I believe since the 3 motherboards share a bios that they are at their simplest level the same board, and different features added for different reasons. Example being, the xfrww has video output ports since the a10 9700 has on board video while ryzen does not. The ryzen board does not have these. Also, the additional pcie x16 slot and m.2 slot may be because ryzen has more pcie lanes and can use them while the a10 cannot. Further, I would theorize that the reason Dell says ryzen and ryzen 2 are only supported in the other 2 boards is because Dell would not sell a configuration with a ryzen cpu and the xfrww for reasons stated above, not because they are incompatible."
